Everybody's Off and Running
August didn't ease us in. School started, schedules filled up, and just like that we're back to the good kind of chaos — the one with a whiteboard calendar and somebody always needing to be somewhere.
Justynn's Back in the Classroom
Justynn is back at school and started the year with some big news: she earned Master Teacher recognition through TIA — the top of the three designation levels. We're proud of her, and we're not the least bit surprised.
She's in a new classroom this year and teaching split classes, which means two grade levels under one roof and twice as much to plan. The days have been long, but she's navigating it the way she navigates everything — steadily, and with a better attitude than the rest of us would manage.
Korbyn and the Bunny
Korbyn is taking on a rabbit project for FFA this year, alongside photography and horticulture. She picks up the bunny at the end of October, and between now and then there's feed, supplies, and show prep to sort out — so keep an eye out, we'll likely be running a few fundraisers to help her cover it.
This is a real responsibility, and we're genuinely looking forward to watching her handle it.
Ashley Made the Cross Country Team
Ashley decided to try out for cross country — and made the team. Not only that, she was the fastest girl across both 7th and 8th grade in the mile. She just went out and did it.
She's still keeping goal for Challenge, too, and played well at a tournament this past month. Between the pitch and the course, she's staying busy.
Reese: Softball, Tech Theater, and Still Reese
Reese is back in tech theater and back on the softball field. There are a few new girls on the team this season and she's already making fast friends with them, which is very much her. Her pitching keeps improving, and she is — happily — as wacky as ever.
She started practicing with the new team mid-month and has her first tournament over Labor Day weekend. First real test of the season.
